Is it possible that an 'ebook' will be read by enough individuals to make it worthwhile?  I believe it can, and it will.  I believe in the possibility strongly enough that I am willing to 'put my money where my mouth is' and do my tiny part to make it happen.  This is the future!  I am old enough to pre-date televisions in every home, and a 'computer' was science fiction movie stuff.  I have lived long enough to watch all of this develop and become not only accepted, but needed on a daily basis.  How wonderful!

I love the feeling of holding a book in my hands while I read, of turning the pages by hand, of sitting comfortably in my recliner with popcorn and a Pepsi (or coffee) on the table beside me.  This feeling I cannot get from reading in front of my computer (I don't own an ipod), nor dare I eat popcorn above my keyboard. But the future is here, is now!  I watch my grandchildren with their battery operated 'readers' and they do all the things with them which I do in my recliner with my solid old books.  And the grease from the popcorn just wipes right off the 'reader' gadgets, but not off my recliner.
Thank you again - I hope I never let you down.

Enough trivia, this site is about stories - not about me.

I was recently asked what it was about my wife that I held most dear. I didn't have to hesitate with the answer. My wife has always given me the courage to reach for the best in me - and she has never given up believing in me when I fell short of my goal - and I with her.

With gratitude and total love I dedicate this web site and all that ever flows along its corridors, to my wonderful wife. She gave up her wings to live on earth with me. She protects me from the world when I am writing, and she sees I remember to eat (not an easy task) when I am 'channeled' into a story.

This web site is a means to, hopefully, share with the reader(s) the pleasure experienced by the writing alone. It is of no matter whether criticism is forthcoming - or if it is not. What is important to me is the pleasure of sharing. There is no guest book to entice you to sign. I am having fun - this is what counts.

Walk these corridors at your leisure. Words shared belong in the private part of the soul we each have. This is my own little corner of the universe; which I wish to share at no cost to you. I have decided to use a different pseudonym in my 'self-publishing' efforts and I shall enter stories as I am able to do so.

Regardless of the stature of a writer, be it someone who writes for fame and fortune, for family, for friends, for money, or someone who writes in secret and hides the results, it is a release in so many ways to put thoughts down on paper (or computer) and to realize YOUR words have the power to possibly affect another in some way. CAUTION: Along with this comes a thing called "Responsibility".

Also, at this stage of my life, I am more interested in the pleasures derived from offering some things I consider important, such as a good read, a thought shared with friends unknown, the exchange of ideas.

The Freeborn Man

Sometimes one puts words down on a piece of paper and is merely drawn along by the power of the flow. When the flow stops the author is usually surprised by what was written. Then comes the long and arduous task of packaging the results into a marketable product. This task involves a mutual agreement of editing, rewriting, packaging and sales marketing (over simplified) - which can at times (to the author, especially) sublimate the personal uplift felt in the original document produced.
